Our Aims:
To reduce the hardship experienced by homeless people and to reduce the risk of becoming homeless to those who are vulnerably housed
To ensure that wintercomfort’s services are accessible to all sections of the homeless population
To offer a range of therapeutic services, educational courses and social activities
To develop a volunteering & employment project as part of the current service provision
To ensure a specialist service is provided for problem drinkers and drug users
To monitor the numbers of those sleeping rough in Cambridge and to work with other agencies towards the provision of sufficient emergency accommodation
To ensure that the special needs of young homeless people are taken into account in the delivery of wintercomfort’s services
To ensure service users have a voice in the planning and development of wintercomfort’s services
To raise public awareness of homelessness and the local profile of wintercomfort and ensure that its services are well and appropriately publicised
To develop and sustain positive working relationships with other local agencies working with homeless people in order to provide a more streamlined, comprehensive and consistent service
To ensure that wintercomfort is an employer, which provides its staff with good working conditions, training and supervision to enable them to contribute fully to the provision of an effective efficient service
To monitor the effectiveness of the services being offered, with a view to continuously improving them
To develop a broad-based fundraising strategy to ensure that wintercomfort is not dependent on any single source of funding, continues to be financially viable and is able to develop its work according to client needs
To ensure that the work of wintercomfort is supported by an efficient administrative service
Wintercomfort relies on the wider community who generously give their time, goods and financial support to ensure our essential services continue to support people with experience of homelessness change their lives
