Things can get pretty hectic on the front desk which is why we’d really value more hands on the deck. Reception duties include signing clients in and out, distributing breakfast and sandwich tickets and helping co-ordinate sales of the Big Issue to local vendors. Although the centre is not open on Saturday Big Issue Sales are still made between 9.00am & 3.00pm.

When temperatures fall below zero
If you can help out overnight, you will work along side a fully trained member of staff to help create a warm, safe and welcoming service to rough sleepers. You may be asked to serve soup or give out bedding. Although we do not open for regular services at weekends, cold weather shelter is open to rough sleepers at these times including Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Years Eve.

Wintercomfort has just had a makeover thanks to a social enterprise grant from SPARK enabling us to convert our basement into a willow weaving workshop. This enterprise will eventually lead for up to 8 homeless or ex-homeless people to gain employment and give many more the opportunity to learn new skills. We are looking for volunteers to help sell woven baskets and garden sculptures at the Trinity Street Arts and Craft market and the Sunday Farmers Market.
Weekly Clothing store/Laundry review:
When: Weekly
We are lucky enough to be given donations of clothing and toiletries on a regular basis, unfortunaely, this means our storage gets in a bit of a mess at times! We would love a weekly volunteer who could come in and tidy up, sort out and arrange new clothes and keep the laundry tidy.
